Dear Blair Road Families,
I am once again, delighted to serve as your principal at Blair Road Public School. We are excited to embark on our mission with our new school motto: “A Learning Adventure – Powered by Curiosity, Rooted in Community.”
As an Ontario certified educator, my career began in 2007. Since then, I have had the privilege of working in almost 15 schools across the Waterloo Region, with the majority of my professional journey rooted right here in Cambridge. While I am an immigrant originally from Brazil, Cambridge has been my true home since 2014, and my love for this community is very real as I raise my own two daughters here. This journey, alongside my experience as a single mother, has only deepened my commitment to fostering a strong and supportive partnership between home, school, and the wider community.
Since becoming principal at Blair Road in 2024, I have worked hard to make our new motto a reality. We are powered by curiosity in all our learning and are deeply appreciative of being rooted in community values. This means that as we embrace change and innovation, we do so while holding on to the best of what our community has to offer.
We have a fabulous staff this year, blending experience with fresh perspectives. We’re proud to have staff members who have been with us for over 20 years alongside many new faces, including educators who hail from countries like Cuba, Colombia, Guyana, and Brazil. This rich mix allows our Blair Road students to experience a powerful combination of tradition and cultural innovation right here within their school community.
Together, we will continue to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where every child feels valued and supported, enabling them to reach their full potential. By aligning with the WRDSB’s vision of “innovating tomorrow by educating today,” we are committed to providing our students with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in an ever-changing world.
