You can find magic wherever you look.

Sit back and relax, all you need is a book.“

Dr. Seuss

Welcome to Blair Road’s Library. We have a beautiful space filled with a wide variety of books for our students to enjoy! It is our hope that our library will provide a place of learning, growth, exploration and relaxation for those who spend time here.

The library motivates readers by…

  • Connecting individual students to ‘just the right’ book or other reading material
  • Providing opportunities for learners to see themselves reflected in what they read
  • Meeting a wide range of interests
  • Honouring students’ choices in what they read

The library supports readers by providing…

  • Equitable access to a rich and diverse collection
  • A trusting environment that respects the privacy of individuals as they explore diverse ideas
  • An atmosphere that fosters intellectual freedom and a culture of curiosity

The goals of the library program are to foster:

  • Engagement in reading and literacy development
  • A culture of inquiry and critical thinking skills for research
  • Personal, social and cultural growth
  • Information literacy, and learning through technology

Students are allowed to borrow books for a 3-week period and may renew their books for an additional three weeks (if no one else has reserved the book).  Please encourage your child(ren) to take good care of their books and to return them promptly.

Students may search our library holdings online by visiting the WRDSB Library Learning Commons (LLC) at https://wrdsb.insigniails.com/library/Home. The LLC also includes links to online encyclopedias, eBooks, research databases and streamed media. Login from home or at school by using your student username (PAL) and password.

If you have any questions, please reach out to me directly at cara_schmidt@wrdsb.ca.

Looking forward to a great year of reading together!
