Dear families and guardians,

I hope you had a beautiful long weekend, and that you were able to enjoy a little bit of the Fall colours that are starting to make an appearance. Tomorrow (Tuesday) is a tough day for many of our students entering a new class and will be practically starting over. As I tucked my children in tonight, I remembered that on this day – the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, in 2010- I had my very first day of teaching as a fully contracted teacher. I was hired after a sudden retirement, and I started fresh, in the middle of October in a brand new school, teaching over 120 students as their planning time teacher. New beginnings are scary – no doubt. But if we keep an open mind and an open heart, they may also lead us to a beautiful new chapter in our lives. I will be outside tomorrow morning, making sure to greet my students and support them as they find their new lines and classes. We’ll get through this, and I hope that sometime in the not too far future, we’ll look back and see just how much we’ve all grown.

Warmly,

Ms. Carolina Miranda
