Hello Blair Road Families,

October was an incredibly productive and exciting month here at the school! We celebrated several significant milestones that will benefit our entire school community. A highlight we are particularly thrilled about is the official opening of our new parking lot addition. This expansion provides much-needed, appropriate parking spaces for our staff, which significantly enhances student safety, especially by streamlining our dismissal procedures before the winter months arrive.

We also dedicated a successful Professional Development day where our staff engaged deeply with our School Learning and Improvement Plan, focusing intently on our core areas of Equity, Well-being, Literacy, and Numeracy.

Please note that our school is officially involved in a Boundary Review process; we encourage you to check our website regularly for updates as more information becomes available.

On the safety front, our students successfully completed Bus Evacuation Safety Training on October 30th, putting us in great stead for the field trips ahead. Furthermore, all our Fall Safety Drills, including our annual tornado drill, are now complete, ensuring we are prepared for the spring.

We were delighted to see Pizza Days resume, and they are off to a fantastic start!  We’ve also successfully launched the Nutrition for Learning program – a huge thank you to the teachers leading this important initiative!

Finally, we had fun wrapping up the Grade 5 and 6 Dodgeball League and seeing the Running Club grow with many new young runners and supportive parent volunteers. The School Choir has also begun rehearsals with nearly 40 enthusiastic members; they are already preparing for their first performance at the upcoming Remembrance Day assembly.

🗓️ Key Dates to Mark in November

He has talked at 2 schools prior and has been deployed to eastern Europe. When speaking to students, he mainly talks about what his job has been in the military and what Canadian soldiers do to assist with peace keeping.
