Dear families and caregivers:

I am happy to share that all of our Individual Educational Plans have been delivered by October 31st. Thank you so much for your patience as we worked through the reorg in October, which has set us back. Our Plans of Care have also finally been updated with all the new classes and teachers as well.

Last week was a delight. The children were joyful and excited about celebrating either Halloween, Diwali, or both! Our school most definitely felt the energy of the many festivities going on.

This first week of November brings a little bit more routine, but no less excitement (check out the info about our first movie night below). I also want to make sure to acknowledge our teachers who have been working hard on getting Progress Reports ready, and those will be going home soon (November 18).

May your November be filled with gentleness,
Ms. Carolina Miranda

Blair Road Movie Night for JK-Grade 3 Students

We are excited to announce Movie Night for students in junior kindergarten to grade 3 on November 6th at 6:00 pm in the gym. The School Council will be providing a bag of popcorn for each student. Please bring a reusable water bottle. Also, feel free to bring a blanket or pillow to get comfy on the gym floor. Students who wish to attend must be supervised by an adult. Movie Night for grades 4-6 students will be on November 20th. If you have any questions please email blairroadschoolcouncil@gmail.com.

Running Club Supervisors

If you have a passion for running and you are also looking for opportunities to get involved with your school, then please connect with Mr. Bolton. He is looking for more volunteers for Running Club. While the fall season is ending soon, the Spring Running Club will be here in a blink and the more volunteers we can secure, the better program we can offer. Please get in touch with Mr. Bolton directly by emailing him at michael_bolton@wrdsb.ca if interested.

Art Supply Donations Welcome – Ongoing!

Do you have extra art supplies at home that are gathering dust? We are excited to announce that our school is now accepting donations of gently used or new art supplies! If you have any paints, brushes, paper, markers, or other materials in excess, we’d love to put them to good use in our classrooms. Our wonderful School Council Co-Chairs have kindly offered to organize and distribute the supplies, ensuring they find their way into the hands of our students and teachers. Your contributions will help support creativity and art education throughout the school.

Donations can be dropped off at the main office, and we sincerely thank you for your generosity!

Community Flyers

The WRDSB offers community organizations and not-for-profits the opportunity to share information on their programs and services with our schools on our Community E-Flyers website. Each week we will share the most recent flyers shared with the Board in this newsletter in hopes that you share this information with your community if you deem it appropriate.
