The grade four students of room 7 entered the City of Cambridge Focus on Trees Contest and their entry was chosen out of 60 submissions as one of 7 winners.  This spring, a tree will be planted and a plaque installed on behalf of the grade four students at Blair Road School.  The winning entries will be published in the city’s Urban Forest Plan document.  Congratulations to Mrs. Pilkington and her students!

For this contest, students were asked to reflect on the significance of trees in their lives, and then they had an opportunity to create a tree using an artistic medium of their choice. A picture was taken of each tree and the images were pieced together into a digital quilt.  All of the entries are on display in the Atrium at City Hall until April 21st.  City Hall is open from 8:30am-8pm daily and from 8:30am-4:30pm on Saturdays.  Drop in and enjoy the many creative contributions!
